Not Shahrukh Khan, This Actor Takes The Crown As Highest Taxpayer – Find Out Who

Last year, Shah Rukh Khan was the top celebrity taxpayer, paying ₹92 crore in taxes. This year, Amitabh Bachchan paid almost 30% more than Khan, moving from fourth place to the top.

Amitabh Bachchan has become the highest tax-paying actor in India for the financial year 2024-25 (FY25), paying ₹120 crore in taxes on earnings of ₹350 crore, according to Pinkvilla. The famous actor, known for his financial responsibility, paid his final advance tax of ₹52.5 crore on March 15, 2025.

Other top earners in the industry include Tamil actor and singer Thalapathy Vijay, who paid ₹80 crore in taxes, and Salman Khan, who paid ₹75 crore.

Amitabh Bachchan earns money from movies, brand endorsements, and hosting the popular game show Kaun Banega Crorepati.

Amitabh Bachchan’s Huge Income Unveiled

Bachchan earns money from several sources, including movies, brand endorsements, and TV shows. He remains one of the most popular actors in the industry. Recently, he starred in Kalki 2898 AD, where his role as Ashwathama received a lot of praise. Reports say he was paid ₹20 crore for the role.

He also appeared in Vettaiyan alongside Rajinikanth, earning ₹7 crore for his Tamil debut. Bachchan continues to host Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) and has confirmed that he will return for the next season.

According to a report by The Times of India, Bachchan earned ₹2.9 crore per episode for Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) season 9, which had 52 episodes in 2017. In KBC 10, which had 60 episodes, he earned ₹3 crore per episode. From KBC 11 to KBC 13, his fee stayed the same at ₹3.5 crore per episode. For KBC 14-15, he earned between ₹4 to ₹5 crore per episode. In KBC 16, which ended on March 11, he reportedly made ₹5 crore per episode.

Registrations for KBC 17 are expected to start next month. Media reports also suggest that he may sign major projects in 2025, which could make him one of the highest earners again this year.

With Kalki 2 set to start production soon and many brand endorsements, Bachchan, at 82, still remains a strong figure in the entertainment industry.
