If you were to talk about some of the most successful female stars in India today, people are likely to mention names such as Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, and Nayanthara. There will always be some people who will argue that Aishwarya Rai deserves to be mentioned solely due to the sheer weight of the popularity she once had, and Priyanka Chopra is certainly included on the list because of her work on the international stage. One might assume that one of the names mentioned would therefore be India’s richest actress; however, one name beats them all with a comfortable long-distance lead, and she no longer even acts full-time.
India’s richest actress
According to the recently published Hurun India Rich List 2025, Juhi Chawla is India’s richest female star. Juhi is reportedly worth an astonishing figure of ₹7790 crore (almost $880 million) and is therefore also one of the richest actors, if not the richest actor in the world.
Juhi Chawla was among the biggest stars in Bollywood during the 90s, but in the 2000s, she took on roles in supporting parts. Since 2010, she has been quite selective with the films she worked on, appearing in a select number of films, like Gulaab Gang, Chalk and Duster, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, and Sharmaji Namkeen, and Fridays Night Plan.
Over the course of the last ten years, almost every single one of Juhi’s films has been either direct-to-OTT or small independent films. The last film Juhi got credit for in terms of box office revenue was Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar back in 2012.

The rich list is an annual event released by the Hurun Research Institute. Outside of cinema Mukesh Ambani has once again topped the overall rich list cementing himself as India’s richest man.
