Drishyam’s Korean Version: Drishyam has become a cult classic. The suspenseful drama featuring Mohanlal was so popular that it was made into numerous languages, including Hindi. The box office results for each of the remakes have been positive. The film is now prepared to use languages other than Indian. The 76th Cannes Film Festival saw the announcement of the Korean version of Drishyam.

Drishyam’s Korean Version Confirmed

Currently, plans call for a Korean remake of Drishyam. To make it happen, South Korea’s Anthology Studios will collaborate with Kumar Mangat Pathak’s Panaroma Studios, which produced the Hindi version of the movie. Additionally, Parasite star Song Kang-ho and Cobweb director Kim Jee-woon are on board for the remake.

As a result, Drishyam will be the first movie to be formally translated into Korean. As the remake will be co-produced by the two companies, it will also be the first time an Indian and a Korean studio have worked together. The first instalment’s production is anticipated to begin next year, according to a report in Deadline.

Kumar Mangat Pathak and Jay Choi’s reactions

When Kumar Mangat Pathak asked how excited he is about this collab, he told Deadline, “I’m excited that the Drishyam franchise is being made in Korean, a first for a Hindi film. This will not only increase its reach outside India but will also put Hindi cinema on the global map. All these years, we have been inspired by Korean fare, now they have found a muse in one of our films.”

Jay Choi, who is a former Warner Bros executive and co-founded Anthology Studios, said, “We are thrilled to have an opportunity to remake a massively successful Hindi film with a touch of originality from Korean cinema. And the remake has greater significance as the first major co-production between Korea and India. Through our partnership, we will be able to bring the best of both Indian and Korean cinema and make a meaningful remake that is as excellent as the original.”
