New Delhi: Nishi Singh, a renowned singer and artist performed live for the members of the Civil Services Officers Institute in the auditorium of the Institute. She enthralled the audience with her immaculate singing and choice of old Hindi classic songs.
She picked a song of each decade starting from the 1950s up to the 1990s. She started with Aayiye Meherban by Asha Bhonsle and followed it up with Kajra Muhabbat wala , ajeeb daastan hai ye, haule haule chalo more sajna, tumko dekha to ye khayal aaya, Roz roz aankho tale, do lafjon ki hai ye kahani, soni kudi and dard kitna hai followed by sufi numbers mere rashq I kamar and damadam mast qalandar. It was a non-stop exhilarating performance for one and half hours and the audience remained glued to their seats.
Nishi went to Delhi University’s premium college LSR (Lady Sri Ram) then studied Law at Law Faculty main campus of the varsity.
Nishi Singh’s father was an IAS officer, she was inspired by him, she also attended UPSC (prelims) exams but we guess destiny had something else for her. She took to music like a duck to water.
