Delhi High Court has reserved its order on a petition filed by Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor’s children, who are seeking their share in their late father Sunjay Kapur’s property worth Rs 30,000 crore. They claimed that Sunjay Kapur’s will had been forged and tampered with when he was alive.
Senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, who appeared on behalf of the children, argued that before the court that the will was changed when Kapur was on a vacation with his son. He also alleged that the individual, who modified the will, was appointed as the company’s director the very next day after Sunjay Kapur’s sudden death.
In the petition, Karisma Kapoor’s kids have accused their stepmother, Priya Sachdev, of forgery in the will. They also claimed that their father had assured them of shares in his assets, but their names are absent from the will.
In addition, their lawyer demanded a forensic examination of the will, which has been opposed by Priya Sachdev’s counsel.
For the unversed, Sunjay and Karisma in 2003. They welcomed their daughter, Samaira, in 2005 and their son, Kiaan, in 2011. They divorced in 2016 but continued to co-parent their kids. Karisma had even accused Sunjay of domestic violence.
Before Karisma, he was married to Nandita Mahtani and divorced in 2000. In 2017, he married Priya Sachdev and welcomed a son with her a few years later.
On June 12, 2025, he passed away, reportedly after swallowing a bee during a polo match. He was only 53.
