Last month, a picture featuring Gangs of Wasseypur stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Manoj Bajpayee went viral, igniting speculation about a possible third part of the cult classic. However, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has shut down rumors about Gangs of Wasseypur 3 clearing the air that it is not happening.
In a recent chat with Mid-Day, the actor, best known for his role as Faizal Khan, confirmed that neither he nor director Anurag Kashyap plans to return to the Wasseypur universe. He said, “Anurag won’t make it. Neither will I act in it. I get such offers so much.”The actor also revealed he frequently receives offers related to his character. “People even tell me, ‘Lets take your character of Faizal Khan from Gangs and make a film on him.’”
Director Anurag Kashyap had previously expressed similar outlook in an interview with The Lallantop, saying he has no interest in creating a “Wasseypur universe.” Kashyap explained that while “businessmen” might think differently about franchises, he prefers to “make many different films and tell various different stories” rather than expanding existing ones.

Released in 2012 in two parts, Gangs of Wasseypur became a cult sensation, starring an ensemble cast including Manoj Bajpayee, Jaideep Ahlawat, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Richa Chadha, Pankaj Tripathi, Huma Qureshi, and Tigmanshu Dhulia.

Meanwhile, Nawazuddin will be next seen in Costao which is directed by debutant Sejal Shah, the film also stars Priya Bapat, Kishore Kumar G, Gagan Dev Riar, and Hussain Dalal. Costao is presented by Bhanushali Studios Limited in association with Bombay Fables Motion Pictures and will premiere on ZEE5 on 1st May.
Nawazuddin is also gearing up for Raat Akeli Hai 2, the sequel to the 2020 noir thriller also starring Chitrangda Singh and directed by Honey Trehan.
