Navjot Singh Sidhu is officially making a comeback to The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 3 after a nearly five-year hiatus. The upcoming season will see Sidhu as a ‘permanent guest’, sharing the judge’s seat with Archana Puran Singh.
Netflix India dropped a promo and in the clip, host Kapil Sharma presents Archana Puran Singh with a mysterious “gift,” which turns out to be none other than Sidhu himself. She reacts with comic shock, nearly fainting, while Kapil jokes that Sidhu may not let her get a word in anymore. Sidhu follows it up with a signature shayari, marking a nostalgic and hilarious comeback.
Sidhu previously featured on The Kapil Sharma Show from 2018 to 2020, reportedly earning Rs 25 crore for 125 episodes an average of Rs 20 lakh per episode. But with The Great Indian Kapil Show now airing weekly on an OTT platform, Sidhu’s remuneration has reportedly hiked. According to Siasat.com industry buzz suggests he’s now charging between Rs 30 to Rs 40 lakh per episode, making this one of the most expensive comebacks in Indian television comedy.
Sidhu marked his return to The Great Indian Kapil Show with heartfelt words, “Coming to The Great Indian Kapil Show feels like I’m coming home again. It is a home run for me. We heard the voice of the people, so many fans and well wishers who loved our interactions and wanted to see more. I’m delighted that Netflix has managed to bring this bouquet of beautiful people together and we will bloom this season for audiences worldwide. A smile doesn’t cost you a cent , but it is worth millions of dollars and The Great Indian Kapil show is an instrument of god’s goodwill to bring happiness to mankind – honoured to be part of it again.”
Season 3 of The Great Indian Kapil Show is all set to premiere on June 21, only on Netflix, bringing back Kapil Sharma, Archana Puran Singh, and Sidhu paaji alongside fan favourites Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek, and Kiku Sharda.
