Anime has gained massive popularity in India and has found success both in theatres and on OTT. Now, one of the most popular anime of all time ‘Naruto’ will now release in India as Reliance Entertainment has teamed up with Japan’s TV Tokyo and Happening 365 for the project. According to Variety, the first film of this anime franchise ‘Naruto the Movie: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow’ will first release in theatres.
Naruto the Movie: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow will reportedly release in theatres in India in June 2025. The movie will release in English, Hindi and Japanese.
Hiroaki Saiki, head of Global Distribution at TV Tokyo, said in a statement, “The movies will be released in three languages – English, Hindi, and Japanese – ensuring accessibility for a wide range of audiences. This theatrical release will not only cater to ‘Naruto’ enthusiasts but also introduce the franchise to a new generation of anime fans.”
Dhruv Sinha, head of international businesses and syndication at Reliance Entertainment, said, “‘Naruto’ has been a cultural phenomenon across the world and India has witnessed a remarkable surge in its anime fan base over the years. We are thrilled to bring this iconic franchise to Indian cinemas, giving fans the opportunity to experience it on the big screen.”

The Naruto franchise revolves around Naruto Uzumaki, who is loud, hyperactive, adolescent ninja and wants approval and recognition on his journey to becoming Hokage in his village. It is based on the manga series, by Masashi Kishimoto. The series and movies in this franchise is streaming on Crunchyroll.
