Nargis Fakhri is making headline, but this time because of her sister Aliya Fakhri, who was arrested New York for allegedly killing her ex-boyfriend and his new female friend. As reported by The Daily News, Aliya set a two-storey garage on fire out of jealousy and brutally killed them both. The victims – Anastasia ‘Star’ Ettienne and Edward Jacobs – were 33 and 35 year-old respectively.

District Attorney Melinda Katz commented on the matter amid the trials going on in Queens Criminal Court. She said, “This defendant maliciously ended the lives of two people by setting a fire that trapped a man and woman in a raging inferno. The victims tragically died from smoke inhalation and thermal injuries.”

Nargis Fakhri’s Mother Reacts!

Though an official comment on the matter is awaited from Nargis, her mother has defended her daughter Aliya in the matter. Talking to the portal, she shared, “I don’t think she would be killing someone. She was a person who was caring for everybody. She tried to help everybody.” In addition, she also revealed that Aliya struggled with the addition of opioids after a dental mishap.

Jacobs’ mother also reacted on the matter and shared that he was a plumber, working on a property to convert the garage into an apartment. She also revealed, “Jacobs and Ettienne were friends and not lovers.”

What happened at the crime scene?

An eye-witness, in a statement to the media organisation, revealed, “We smelled something sweet burning. I don’t know if it was gasoline or what. We ran out and the couch on the stairs was on fire and we had to jump over it to get out. Star jumped over with me but she went back in to save [Jacobs]. It was an abusive relationship. She told everybody [in the past] she was going to burn his house down, that she was going to kill him. We just laughed at her.”
