Bollywood legend Nana Patekar is preparing for his upcoming film Vanvaas, directed by Anil Sharma, the visionary behind the iconic Gadar. Recently, rumors surfaced suggesting that Patekar might portray the villain opposite Sunny Deol in the much-anticipated sequel, Gadar 3. Patekar has hinted that his character will come from a different world than Sunny’s, adding an intriguing layer to the storyline.
Playful Response To Villain Rumors
In a recent interview with The Lallantop, Patekar addressed the speculation regarding his potential role in Gadar 3. When asked about the possibility of playing the antagonist, he humorously questioned how audiences would react to seeing him defeated by Sunny Deol in a fight. He suggested that for such a scenario to be believable, the narrative would need to establish that they belong to completely different worlds. “Kahaani kuch uss tarah ki honi chahiye ki mein waha ka hu, wo yaha ka hai,” he remarked, indicating the need for a compelling backstory.
Patekar further mentioned that while he had spoken with Anil Sharma about the role, nothing has been finalized yet. He playfully added that they could sort out the details later, hinting at ongoing discussions between the two.
Director’s Insights On Gadar 3
Anil Sharma also shared insights about Gadar 3 during the same interview, revealing that he had considered adding a character for Patekar in the sequel. He acknowledged that while the film is currently in a stage where significant changes are not feasible, he would be open to incorporating Patekar if the opportunity arises.
Earlier this year, Sharma confirmed that preparations for Gadar 3 are in full swing, with the script still being developed. During the Pinkvilla Screen & Style Icons Awards, he confidently announced that the film is set to release in 2026, stating, “Aaegi part 3 bhi aaegi 2026 me bol k jaa raha hu.”
