The entertainment industry always looks fascinating to our eyes; the glamour, the charm, and the publicity all make us think about how easy is an artist’s life. But we know that all these glitters are not gold; thus, what we see is never the whole story. We people are often unaware of the struggles and hardships these artists face to achieve their goals. People break numerous barriers, work day and night, have sleepless nights, and after all these efforts, they finally achieve the heights they desire. One such singer who has put in his heart and soul to achieve his dreams is Reezy Runna. In this interview, he talks about his journey and the struggles he faced on his musical journey.
- Tell us about your journey so far and what inspired you to be a singer?
I am Reezy Runna, a musician from Gaffney, South Carolina. My life has not been easy, butt I made these struggles my inspiration for writing music. Other than that, the life instances and many local artists I saw while growing up are the sources of my inspiration. Talking about my musical journey, well, so far, it has been an amazing one; I get to travel and perform in different cities, and it feels so good to live my dream.
- How do you plan to bring something different to the table in this era of cut-throat competition?
I’m very determined about being original, I always make sure that the music I deliver has my essence, but with that, I also make sure that it is blending with today’s sounds. The heights that I have achieved today are without the help of any label, and this makes me super proud; hence I will always make sure to bring something new and honor my achievements and struggles. Making music is my passion, and whenever I collaborate with an artist, I make sure that my voice blends with theirs, or else I do not collaborate with them because this is non-negotiable for me.
- Have there been any roadblocks? If yes, what lessons have you learned from them?
It is always the roadblocks along the way that teach a person important life lessons, and the same was the case with me. The biggest roadblock was my financial condition; unfortunately, I was not born into a well-versed family. Hence there was always a financial crunch. While growing up, I had zero knowledge about investments, but I’m glad I learned from my problems, and today I own a business called Wealth Club in partnership with Umar Nasim and Quick Care.
- What has been your success mantra?
From a very young age, I wanted to make my loved ones happy and give them the things they deserve; this became my success mantra. The desire to give my loved ones everything they deserve keeps me motivated and inspires me to work hard every day.
- What are your plans to grow?
I’m very happy in the place that I’m in; my future aim is to only go upward and make new music for my audience. Two things that I want with my whole heart are, first, getting verification on all media platforms, and second, getting endorsements and cracking a major distribution deal. But all above, the ultimate goal is to keep my loved ones and me happy and healthy.
