New Delhi: Actor Mukesh Khanna found himself in a tight spot, after netizens slammed him for a controversial statement. Well, Mukhesh Khanna who is well known for his role as Shaktiman, recently said that, girls who ask for sex are sex workers.
Mukesh Khanna in his YouTube channel Bheeshm International, posted a video last week. In the video titled, “Kya aapko bhi aisi ladkiya lubhati hain?” (Do such girls lure you as well), he said, “Koi bhi ladki agar kisi ladke ko kahe ‘I want to have sex with you’, wo ladki, ladki nahi hai, wo dhanda kar rahi hai (girls who desire sex and ask for it are sex workers)”

He further added, “Kyunki is tarah ki nirlaj baatein koi sabhya samaj ki ladki kabhi nahi karegi (Because a decent girl belonging to civilised society would never say such things).”
Offended by his remark, internet users have backlashed him. The netizens labelled him as ‘Sexist’.
A user wrote, “When Shakti and maan (respect) dono leaves you.” Another said, “Amazing logic. I understand though, that no girl might have said this to him. So it’s great for him to remain in this delusion for life.”
Yet another said, “sorry shaktimaan, this time you’re the one in the wrong here.” A fourth added, “Even illiterate people will laugh at him with this logic.”
Notably, Mukesh Khanna was idolised by an entire 90s generation and this statement seems to hurt his fans as well. Shaktiman aired on Doordarshan, was considered as the first superhero show in India.
Mr Khanna also played the role of Bhishma Pitamah in Mahabharat. Apart from this, the actor has also appeared in a few Bollywood films, such as Saudagar, Main Khiladi Tu Anari and Hera Pheri (2000).
