The Indian Armed Forces launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ on May 7, 2025, in response to the Pahalgam terror attack. As citizens are saluting Indian Army and government for their bravery, some inviduals have filed applications with the Trade Marks Registry on Wednesday to register ‘Operation Sindoor’ as a word mark. According to report by Live Law, Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries is one of parties, who filed for he rights to the term.
Apart from Reliance Industries, three individuals named Mukesh Chetram Agrawal, Group Captain Kamal Singh Oberh (Retd), and Alok Kothari have reportedly also done the same. As per Live Law, the registration of ‘Operation Sindoor’ has been sought for ‘goods and services’ under Class 41 which covers education and entertainment services.
About Operation Sindoor:
Operation Sindoor was launched in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 people, including several tourists from Maharashtra. The situation was constantly monitored by Prime Minister Narendra Modi throughout the night, as per sources. All nine targets were successfully struck, sources further added. Indian forces selected the targets with the intent of eliminating top Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) leaders involved in planning and executing terrorist attacks in India.
Sharing the news of Operation Sindoor, the official Instagram page of Indian Army wrote, “#PahalgamTerrorAttack Justice is Served. Jai Hind!”
India attacked 9 terror-linked sites in Pakistan, and PoK under the operation. The four locations were within the Pakistan’s territory, whereas 5 were in PoK. According to media reports, locations connected to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were targeted under the strike. These two terrorist outfits are frequently involved in sponsoring terror attacks in India.
At least 80 terrorist were killed in the strikes carried out by India. These strikes were jointly carried out by the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force, employing precision strike weapons.
