Akshay Kumar has worked in several successful movies but his role in Bhool Bhulaiyaa is one of the fan favourites. His character Aditya Shrivastava, a renowned yet hilarious psychiatrist, is widely loved and still creates a laughter riot. In a recent interview, Akshay talked about his absence from the other instalments of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ and gave a hilarious response.
When asked about his absence in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 & 3’, Akshay hilariously told Pinkvilla, “Mujhe nikaal diya that. That’s it.” (I was removed).
In the same interview, Akshay also talked about the reason for doing fewer comedies. He said, “That’s true. I’ve done less comedies. I’ve done a lot of social films, whether it’s Sarfira (2024), Airlift (2016), Rustom (2016), Padman (2018), and Toilet (Ek Prem Katha, 2017). Because I wanted to do it. I’d done a lot of comedies in the past. Every person has a mindset at a particular time, what he wants to do. So I wanted to do that. But now, I’ve signed about 2-3 comedies which I’m filing, like Bhooth Bangla, Welcome (to the Jungle), and Housefull (5).”
Meanwhile, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ starred Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani and Tabu in the lead roles. ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ also starred Kartik with Triptii Dimri, Madhuri Dixit and Vidya Balan joining the cast.
On the work front, Akshay is currently gearing up for the release of ‘Sky Force’, releasing on January 24. It also stars Veer Pahariya, Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur in pivotal roles. ‘Sky Force’ is produced by Dinesh Vijan, Jyoti Deshpande and Amar Kaushik. It is directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur. Both Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya will be seen as Indian Air Force officers but Veer’s character goes missing. Sara is seen as Veer’s wife, who waits for him.
He will also star in ‘Housefull 5′, ”Welcome To The Jungle’, ‘Bhooth Bangla’, ‘Jolly LLB 3’, and others.
