We did have our hopes up for the film after celebs like Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif praised the film. It appears, however, that the film started slowly and is expected to grow over the weekend. On Day 1, the Rani Mukerji starrer made Rs 1.50 crore, according to Sacnilk. Our hope is that the film will gain traction over time, given its intriguing and sensitive content, along with its great reviews.

About the film

A mother fights an entire nation for custody of her children in the film. Jim Sarbh and Anirban Bhattacharya also star in the film. The film was directed by Ashima Chibber and released on March 17. The film is based on Sagarika Chakraborty’s autobiography titled The Journey of a Mother. Sagarika’s children were taken from her by the Norwegian Childcare system (Barnevernet) in 2011.
