After the success of Life In A Metro in 20007, filmmaker Anurag Basu has returned with the movie ‘Metro In Dino’ that has similar theme of urban life and romance. The movie stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripahti, Neena Gupta, Anupam Kher and Saswata Chatterjee in the lead roles. The makers dropped the first look of all the actors in Metro In Dino through a song teaser.
While sharing the first look, the makers also dropped a teaser of the film’s first song ‘Zamaana Lage’. The music of Metro In Dino is composed by Pritam and this song is sung by Arijit Singh.
Directed by Anurag Basu, the movie is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Anurag Basu and Taani Basu.
Talking about the song, music director Pritam said, “With Qaisar Ul Jafri’s timeless poetry, we wanted to revive the ghazal as a form — not as nostalgia, but as something emotionally alive and relevant today. A ghazal can be modern in its arrangement while retaining its poetic soul.”
Metro In Dino will release in theatres on July 4, 2025.
On the work front, Anurag Basu will next direct Aashiqui 3 but there has been a controversy around the film’s title. Talking about it, he told Hindustan Times, “I don’t know what’s the film called right now, the shoot starts this month. We have not finalised the female lead right now, it will be announced in a week.”
The movie stars Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela. It was rumoured that Triptii Dimri will star opposite Kartik Aaryan but Sreeleela was finalised. Clearing the air around Tripti did not star in the film, he added, “Image was not the reason. I am the last person to judge an actor on the basis of the other characters they have played on screen. Aashiqui was not even the story any more. I don’t know the source of those stories which came out.”
Anurag Basu last directed Ludo in 2020. The movie is streaming on Netflix.
