Meiyazhagan OTT Release Date: Karthi is one of the most celebrated actors in Tamil cinema and returned to theatres with his movie ‘Meiyazhagan’. The film received a good response from the audience and critics for its performances and heartfelt storyline. After its good run at the box office, ‘Meiyazhagan’ is all set to release on OTT.

‘Meiyazhagan’ will release on Netflix on October 25. Apart from its original Tamil version, the movie will also be available in dubbed versions of Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.
In an interview with OTTplay, director Prem Kumar revealed that Karthi’s character is based on his friend. He shared, “The character is based on my friend, and director who came all the way from the village to make a film. He did a film called Asuravadham, Maruthu Pandiyar. His traits have been placed in Karthi’s character. I have also borrowed a plumber who visited my house, whose traits too are in his character. They are all innocent, not ignorant or mentally retarded. They are absolutely perfect people who consciously decide to remain that way. We may think they don’t know but they are just blissfully unaware.”

He added, “With Meiyazhagan, even though it is too early to reveal the story, it is something about how we might lose something so good in our life that shatters us too much and we might begin to not accept many other good things later. There will be a cycle that goes on and as we are on the receiving end at the most unexpected time, this film is a journey of that phase.”
Apart from Karthi, the movie also stars Arvind Swamy, Rajkiran, Sri Divya, Devadarshini, Jayaprakash, Sriranjani, Ilavarasu, Karunakaran and Saran Shakthi. Directed by C Prem Kumar, the movie is produced by Tamil actors Jyothika and Suriya under their banner 2D Entertainment.
