Who is Bela Bajaria?
Born in London, England, Bela Bajaria started her career in showbiz by participating in beauty pageants. She won the Miss LA India contest, Miss India USA and Miss India Worldwide 1991. In 1995, she graduated from California State University, Long Beach with her Bachelor of Arts in communications from the College of Liberal Arts.
She worked as an assistant in the movies and miniseries department at CBS in 1996. She joined Warner Bros. Television Studios in 1997, but joined CBS again. Bela joined Universal Television as executive vice president in 2011 and became the president soon after.
In 2016, Bela Bajaria joined Netflix as head of unscripted and scripted content. In 2019, she became the lead of all local language series and was promoted to global head of television the next year.
Under her leadership, the hit movies and shows like Adolescence, Stranger Things, KPop Demon Hunters, Bridgerton, Wednesday and many more were created.
