A major controversy has erupted after Jammu and Kashmir Police booked social media influencer Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry and seven others were booked for consuming alcohol in Katra which is the base camp of the holy shirne Mata Vaishno Devi. Among those named in the FIR is Russian national Anastasila Arzamaskin, who was reportedly part of the group accompanying Orry.

According to media reports, an FIR number 72/25 has been lodged at the Katra Police Station against Orry, Darshan Singh, Parth Raina, Anastasila Arzamaskina and others for violating the District Magistrate’s order and hurting religious sentiments by allegedly consuming alcohol before their temple visit.

Booked Under Section 223
The group has been booked under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNSS),which addresses offenses that includes disobedience of official orders and doing anything that causes disturbance to the public peace. If found guilty, the accused may be legally penalized for their act in the religious town of Katra.

The incident has sparked massive outraged on social media, with public demanding strict and immediate action against the entire group as the case has caused alarm over ensuring the dignity and sanctity of religious places of pilgrimage.
