Rani Mukerji is gearing up to return on the big screen as top cop Shivani Shivaji Roy in ‘Mardaani 3’. On the auspicious occasion of Navratri 2025, the makers of ‘Mardaani 3’ unveiled a new poster of the film. The actress is seen holding a gun, while standing in front of a baricade with ‘Delhi Police’ written on it.
Sharing the poster, the makers wrote, ” On the auspicious Day 1 of Navratri, here’s to celebrating the victory of good over evil. #RaniMukerji returns as top cop Shivani Shivaji Roy in Mardaani 3 to investigate the most challenging case of her career. #Mardaani3 in cinemas 27th February, 2026.”
‘Mardaani 3’ will hit the theatres on February 27, 2026.
In an earlier interview with Variety, Rani Mukerji talked about Mardaani 3 and said, “When we set out to make Mardaani 3, we were hoping that we find a script that would take the experience of watching a Mardaani franchise film higher.”
She added, “I am really excited about what we have at hand and I’m only hoping that the audience too feels the same after watching Mardaani 3 in theatres.” She described Mardaani 3 as ‘dark, deadly and brutal’. The film series is also one of the most popular and successful female-led action franchise.
‘Mardaani 3’ is directed by Abhiraj Minawala and produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of YRF. Its script is written by Aayush Gupta, who is known for his work in the Netflix series ‘The Railway Men’.
On the work front, she was last seen in Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway, along with Anirban Bhattacharya, Neena Gupta, and Jim Sarbh. The movie is inspired by real-life Indian couple Anurup Bhattacharya and Sagarika Chakraborty, whose children were taken away by Norwegian authorities in 2011. She won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress (Critics).

She also bagged the National Film Award for her impeccable performance and the ceremony will take place on September 23, 2025.
