Veteran actor Manoj Kumar passed away at the age of 87. Manoj died at 4.03 am today (4 april), at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital In Mumbai. Not only the film industry but the whole India is mourning on the loss.
Recently, his son Kunal Goswami has spoke about his father’s final hours, recalling the pain of losing him and the way in which he passed away.
Kunal Goswami On His Father’s Last Moments
In a interview with IANS, Kunal revealed that he woke up around 4:30 AM to look after his father’s health which was getting worse day by day. He said: “He had been unwell for a while, and we were constantly praying for his pain to ease,”. He also expressed gratitude towards the place where his father had took his last breath, Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital for providing their over-the top support.
Recalling father’s death Kunal said: “When organs start failing, the body goes through a lot. It is difficult to pinpoint the exact cause, but it seemed to be heart-related towards the end, Despite the pain, I am grateful that he went in peace. That’s all we could hope for.”
Kunal Goswami On Father’s Last Rites
During the conversation Kunal also provided the details of the last rites of the actor. He revealed that the body will taken on Saturday from the hospital at 9 AM and will be brought home by 10 AM and then moved to Pawan Hans for cremation at 11 AM.
Manoj Kumar’s Legacy Lives On
Reflecting on his father’s cinematic contributions, Kunal said, “You can still watch his films today and feel the power of his message. The word ‘Bharat’ is being used again in every sector, in politics, in Parliament and it’s heartening to see. My father’s work was always rooted in love for the nation. His karma and soul will live on.”
Manoj Kumar’s Passing
In an official statement, Dr Santosh Shetty, CEO and Executive Director of the Dhirubhai Ambani hospital, confirmed his passing: “Veteran actor Shri Manoj Kumar ji passed away peacefully at Kokilaben Ambani Hospital early this morning at around 3:30 AM due to age-related health issues.”
