Legendary actor Manoj Kumar mostly known as ‘Bharat Kumar’ for his iconic patriotic films has passed away on Friday morning (4 april). Bollywood industry is shocked with the loss. The true icon of Indian cinema, Manoj Kumar was honoured with several prestigious awards in his entire career.
The actor’s dead body was brought to his residence ahead of the funeral this morning (5th April, Saturday).
The atmosphere there was filled with mourning and sorrow as family members, friends and industry people gathered there to pay their final respects. His wife, Shashi Goswami appeared visibly emotional and was struggling to hold back tears as she stood by his side for the last time.
State Honours And Tributes
Manoj Kumar is also accorded full state honours. His body was wrapped in the Indian tricolour, and he was given a 21-gun salute which is a mark of deep respect for his contribution to Indian cinema and culture.
A huge crowd of fans and well-wishers gathered outside his house for his final darshan. Many from the film fraternity and public figures arrived to bid a tearful goodbye. Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit was among the first to reach for the last rites.
Funeral Scheduled
The final rites of Manoj Kumar were scheduled to take place at 11:30 AM. However, as we wait for the visuals from his cremation ceremony, everyone is still grieving on the loss of a true cinematic legend.
