Veteran actor, director and filmmaker Manoj Kumar passed away on Friday at the age of 87. He is widely known as ‘Bharat Kumar’ for his iconic patriotic roles. He took his last breath 4:03 am on April 4, 2025 at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai.
Dharmendra Pays Tribute
Veteran actor Dharmendra recently shared his grief over Manoj’s demise. Speaking to ANI, he said, “Bhot si yaadien hain humari….film industry me humara bachpan saath me beeta hai.” (We have many memories together. We spent our earlier days in the film industry together.)

Last Rites Scheduled For Tomorrow
Manoj’s son, Kunal Goswami confirmed that the last rites will take place at 11 am on Saturday at Pawan Hans situated near Nanavati Hospital in Vile Parle.
He also expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his heartfelt tribute: “I thank PM Modi for his tweet… Films like Upkar, Purab Aur Paschim, and Roti Kapada Aur Makaan are still relevant today, both in Parliament and society.”
Cause Of Death And Health Struggles
Kumar’s death was reportedly attributed to cardiogenic shock. He had also been battling some liver related issues for several months and had been under medical care since 21 February 2025.
