Producer-director Vipul Amrutlal Shah is all set to collaborate with actor Manoj Bajpayee on a new political thriller titled “Governor.” According to reports from PeepingMoon, Bajpayee will play the titular role of the Governor in what is described as an intense, politically charged thriller with high commercial appeal.
The film will be produced under Shah’s banner Sunshine Pictures and directed by Chinmay Mandlekar. “Governor” has reportedly been in development for nearly two years, with pre-production currently in work and filming expected to begin in July or August this year with supporting cast still being finalized.
This marks the first collaboration between Shah and Bajpayee, with sources indicating the actor is enthusiastic about playing this new role. Known for films like Aankhen, Namastey London, and Waqt: The Race Against Time, Shah continues his tradition of delivering gripping, audience friendly cinema.
On work front, Shah is also preparing for the release of his directorial venture “Hisaab,” a heist thriller starring Jaideep Ahlawat and Shefali Shah. It is set to hit the theaters in latter half of 2025. Meanwhile Manoj Bajpayee was last seen in the 2024 film Despatch. He has reportedly wrapped up filming for The Family Man 3.
