The refund is reportedly for an excess payment made to the Collector of the Mumbai Suburban District for the land on which his iconic Mumbai residence, Mannat, is located. Significance of the name: Shah Rukh Khan purchased the sprawling bungalow, originally known as ‘Villa Vienna’, from the ‘Bai Khorshed Bhanu Sanjana Trust’ in 2001. Initially, he rechristened it ‘Jannat’, but later changed it to ‘Mannat’ in 2005, reportedly after experiencing a streak of good fortune. The name ‘Mannat’ holds special significance, translating to ‘prayer’ or ‘wish’, reflecting Khan’s deep connection with his beloved home.
Features: Mannat has a private movie theater, a gym, a swimming pool, and a library. The bungalow has a large garden, personal auditorium, a pool, gym and a private parking area that can accommodate up to 20 cars. The mansion is equipped with state-of-the-art security systems and has a team of security personnel. The mansion was constructed under the guidance of Gauri Khan by architect-designer Kaif Faquih.
