New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is celebrating his 72nd birthday on Saturday. From Shah Rukh Khan to Akshay Kumar, Bollywood celebs took to their social media handles to wish him on this special occasion.
Interestingly, Mallika Sherawat’s old video wishing PM Modi on his birthday back in 2013, goes viral on the internet. In the hilarious video, Mallika is seen singing a birthday song for the then CM of Gujarat Narendra Modi. In the following year, Narendra Modi became India’s Prime Minister.
Coming to Mallika’s clip, it was in a way inspired by late Hollywood actor Marilyn Monroe. The late actress sang a birthday song for then US President John F Kennedy on his 45th birthday. Meanwhile, Mallika before singing ‘happy birthday Narendra Modi’ in a breathy way on a TV show, had declared him India’s most ‘eligible bachelor’.

The actress was ridiculed back in 2013 after she shared the video of her birthday message for Narendra Modi. Netizens also compared her stunt with Marilyn’s performance.
People also backlashed her for singing in a ‘suggestive manner’ for the political leader on national TV. Mallika was featuring in a reality show that aired on Life OK at that time. It was the Indian version of The Bachelorette. The actress was on a quest to find a ‘perfect match’ for herself.
On the work front, Mallika was last seen in RK/RKay also starring Rajat Kapoor, Ranvir Shorey, and Kubbra Sait. The actress hails from Haryana and is best known for her breakout role in Murder (2004). She also worked in films like Hisss, The Myth, Time Raiders among others.
PM Narendra Modi was Gujarat’s chief minister from 2001 to 2014, after that he became the 14th prime minister of India.
