Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko has been involved in massive controversy after he was accused of misbehaving on set and drug use by his co-star Vincy Aloshious. After this, he was seen fleeing from a hotel as police reached there for a drug raid. On Saturday morning, the actor appeared before police for questioning and has now been arrested in connection with alleged drug use. As per reports, Shine has been booked under Sections 27 (consumption of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances) and 29 (abetment and criminal conspiracy) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The officials also revealed that a medical examination and legal proceedings will conducted in the drug case. For the unversed, the actor was summoned by the police for investigation after his CCTV footage of fleeong from the hotel during drug raid went viral.
While revealing the reason of his escape during the raid, he claimed that he did not realise it was police at the hotel and thought they were miscreants attempting to assault him.
As per the reports by The Hindu, the police prepared around 30 questions, including why he ran away when he saw the police team. They also gathered call records of the actor from last month. The Narcotics Cell Assistant Commissioner was also present at the station to witness the ongoing process of interrogation.

The whole controversy started when Malayalam actress Vincy Aloshious claimed that her co-actor misbehaved with her under the influence of drugs during a movie shoot. Later, it was revealed that the actor was Shine Tom Chacko. On Wednesday, she complained to the Film Chamber about the incident, but later on she took back her complaint and said she never wanted people to know his name. Vincy said, “I know exactly where the complaint I filed. It went to the Internal Committee of the film, the Producers Association and AMMA. I don’t know how it leaked out. Producers Association and AMMA also say that it wasn’t from there. I don’t know who leaked it, but no matter, you have done a great betrayal of trust.”
Meanwhile, both the actors will be seen in the film ‘Soothravakayam’, releasing on June 28, 2025.
