New Delhi: At a Kozhikode private hospital on Wednesday, April 26, renowned Malayalam actor Mamukkoya passed away. He passed away at about 1.10 pm as per reports. Age-wise, he was 76. He passed out at a football event in the Malappuram district on Monday, April 23. He was taken to the hospital immediately and placed on a ventilator.
Mamukkoya dies after collapsing at football ground
Mamukkoya launched the Poongod Janakeeya Sevens Football Tournament on April 24 while he was in Malappuram. The actor reportedly complained of feeling uneasy before passing out on the football pitch.
Mamukkoya received treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU) after being taken to the hospital in a hurry. He received a ventilator. According to hospital officials, Mamukkoya passed away an hour ago on April 26.
The tragic death of Mamukkoya shocked the whole Malayalam cinema industry.

Prithviraj Sukumaran took to his Instagram handle and wrote, “Rest in peace Maamukkoya Sir! Had the absolute privilege of sharing screen space with you multiple times. But to see you unleash #Moosa in #KURUTHI at such close quarters will be a memory that I cherish forever! #Legend (sic).”
Tovino Thomas also mourned Mamukkoya’s demise on social media. He wrote, “Rest in Peace (sic).”
Vineeth Sreenivasan wrote, “Rest in Peace,” with a flower emoji.

The 76-year-old actor is from Malayalam. He even contributed to the Swiss movie Flammen im Paradies.He holds two Kerala state honours for Perumazhakkalam and Innathe Chintha Vishayam, and he is the father of four kids.
