New Delhi: Malayalam actor Mamukkoya was in Malappuram to launch the Poongod Janakeeya Sevens Football Tournament when he collapsed at the event. The actor reportedly complained of uncomfortable and passed out on the football pitch itself as a mob had gathered around him to grab a selfie. He was brought and checked into a private hospital in Kozhikode, where he is reportedly doing well.

Before transitioning to Malayalam cinema and becoming a well-known comedian and actor, Mamukkoya worked as a stage performer. He has appeared in more than 450 films and received two state honours.

Fans wished the seasoned actor a swift recovery on social media.

Although there are unconfirmed rumours that the actor had a heart attack, no official reports have been made. A private hospital in Kozhikode is said to have him in the ICU.

The 76-year-old actor is from Malayalam. He even contributed to the Swiss movie Flammen im Paradies.He holds two Kerala state honours for Perumazhakkalam and Innathe Chintha Vishayam, and he is the father of four kids.

Earlier, on December 13, the Delhi government’s Directorate of Education (DoE) had issued a circular directing all government, government-aided, and recognised private schools under DOE, NDMC, MCD, and Delhi Cantonment Board to conduct classes in a hybrid mode for students up to Class IX and XI.
