Malaika Arora, in a 2022 interview, opened up about how the separation of her parents impacted her childhood. She said when she was only 11, her father Anil Arora and mother Joyce called it quits. She further revealed how this move taught her important life lessons.
“I had a wonderful childhood, but it wasn’t easy. In fact, in retrospect, the word I would use to describe it is tumultuous. But tough times teach you important lessons too,” she told Grazia India.
Explaining how her parents’ separation affected her, she further said: “I learned a rock-steady work ethic and the value of getting up each morning to do whatever it takes to become fiercely independent. Those early lessons are the cornerstones of my life and professional journey. I am still fiercely independent,” the actor said, adding that she has also learnt to value her freedom and live life on her terms.
