Malaika Arora Father Death: Actors Malaika Arora and Amrita Arora looked inconsolable after the death of their step-father Anil Kuldip Mehta, who died by allegedly jumping off the terrace of his Bandra home on Wednesday. Now in a development, it has been reported by India Today that just hours before Anil Mehta passed away, he called both her daughters. He told them, ‘I am sick and tired.’

Another video that has surfaced on the internet shows Amrita Arora, the younger step-daughter of Anil Mehta, visiting them a night before his death. In the video, Amrita can be seen waving goodbye to her parents. She then sits in the car with her dog and goes off.

Social media users shared the video widely and mentioned how life could be so unpredictable.

Malaika Arora’s first official statement

Hours after the tragic incident, Malaika shared her first official statement through an Instagram post. “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear father, Anil Mehta. He was a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband and our best friend,” the statement read. She expressed her “shock by this loss” and requested “privacy from the media and well-wishers during this difficult time.”

Mother Joyce Polycarp’s statement to the police

Mumbai Police informed the media that “it seems to be a case of suicide”, but they are probing the incident from all angles. However, statement by Malaika’s mother Joyce Polycarp hinted at an accidental death. As per the sources, Malaika’s mother said in her statement that her ex-husband Anil would sit in the balcony every morning to read the newspaper. She further informed that on Wednesday morning, when she saw Anil’s slippers in the living room, she went to look for him in the balcony but could not find him. Therefore, she leaned over the balcony to check what has happened. To her shock, the building watchman was shouting for help.
