Malaika Arora Father Death News LIVE: Bollywood actresses Malaika Arora and Amrita Arora’s step father Anil Mehta passed away on Wednesday afternoon. Mumbai Police has confirmed that he jumped off the balcony of his home in Mumbai’s Bandra.
Addressing the media gathered outside the home of Malaika’s parents, the police said, “Anil used to live on the sixth floor. We are carrying out a detailed investigation from all angles… our forensic teams are here for investigation. His body is being sent for postmortem. We are investigating everything… prima facie it looks like suicide, we are conducting further investigation.”
Malaika Arora shared a heartbreaking note on behalf of her family after the death of her father. Malaika took to her Instagram account on Wednesday and posted the statement:
“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear father, Anil Mehta. He was a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband, and our best friend. Our family is in deep shock by this loss, and we kindly request privacy from the media and well-wishers during this difficult time,” her statement read. “We appreciate your understanding, support and respect. With gratitude, Joyce, Malaika, Amrita, Shakeel, Arhaan, Azaan, Rayyan, Casper, AXL, Duffy and Buddy,” Malaika added.
Anil Mehta, who passed away on September 11 after allegedly jumping off his building, was cremated amid family and friends. A large number of celebrities from the film world also turned up to show support to Malaika Arora and Amrita Arora at the Santacruz crematorium on September 12.
