Madhuri Dixit has given several iconic movies in her career, including Hum Aapke Hain Koun!, Khalnayak, Beta, Dil To Pagal Hai, Lajja, Devdas and many more. But this movie with Vinod Khanna became one of the biggest regrets of her career. This film is none other than ‘Dayavan’, remake of the Tamil film ‘Nayakan’.
The movie became a hit and was praised for its performance. However, it also sparked controversy due to its kissing, intimate scenes and also the big age gap between Vinod Khanna and Madhuri Dixit.
While speaking to Radio Nasha, Madhuri talked about the scene and shared she was embarrassed. “Well, I think it’s a growing process or learning process. You learn something with everything and I learned something from that too. And after that I was very embarrassed and I decided that this is something that’s not to be done, ” she said.
As per reports, Madhuri was not aware of how explicit the scenes were going to be when she signed the film. She reportedly requested the controversial scene to be removed from the final cut, and even sent a legal notice to the makers seeking its deletion. But director Feroz Khan chose to keep it, and Madhuri was reportedly paid an additional Rs 1 crore for the scenes to be in the film.
