Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit is facing criticism for collaborating with Houston-based Pakistani-origin promoter Rehan Siddiqui, who allegedly has ties to ISI and whom the Indian government has blacklisted. On Friday, Sunanda Vashisht shared a photo of the event poster featuring Madhuri and Rehan, scheduled for August 2024 in Houston, Texas, just a day after Independence Day.
Twitter users criticized Madhuri Dixit for collaborating with Rehan and urged the actress not to do so. They also shared a four-year-old letter from BJP minister Kishan Reddy stating that the Indian government had ‘blacklisted’ Rehan.

Sunanda expressed surprise at Madhuri Dixit’s partnership with a Pakistani-origin promoter, highlighting that the promoter is under Indian agency scrutiny and has been blacklisted by the Indian government. Minister of State for Home @kishanreddybjp publicly declared that Rehan Siddiqui, a Houston-based Pakistani-origin promoter, has been blacklisted and urged Bollywood personalities not to collaborate with him.
Critics trolled Madhuri Dixit for collaborating with a Pakistani-origin promoter, asking, “Does Madhuri Dixit have any valid reason to work with a promoter of Pakistani origin accused of having links with ISI and blacklisted by the Indian government?” Can Madhuri Dixit’s friends, family, and fans inform her about this man’s history and persuade her against it? This would greatly encourage our security forces and those brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives to keep Indian borders safe. I hope Madhuri Dixit understands not to proceed with this.’
Fans Express Disappointment
One user reacted to the post, saying, ‘Agreed, there’s no money in films, but reality show earnings aren’t enough… Husband, doctor… It feels like everything is falling short for daily expenses.’ Another wrote, ‘Madhuri Dixit has truly disappointed me. I thought Bollywood people were trustworthy, but I’m now convinced they’re all the same.’
One person wrote in anger, ‘I’ve been a huge fan of Madhuri all my life… But I can’t understand this eagerness to earn money at any cost. Actors shouldn’t be blamed. I want to understand what her managers and advisors do… What do they get paid for?’
