Maa and Kannappa were the two big releases that arrived in theatres last week. Even though both the movies had different concepts and targeted different regions, they created hype before their release. Maa stars Kajol in the lead role, whereas, Kannappa features Vishnu Manchu in the titular role. Check the box office collection of Maa and Kannappa after the first week.
Maa Vs Kannappa Box Office Collection Day 5
According to Sacnilk, Maa collected Rs 2.85 crore on day 5 as per early estimates. The movie has earned Rs 23 crore in total.
Meanwhile, Kannappa earned Rs 1.75 crore on day 5 as per early estimates. The movie collected Rs 27.45 crore in total within five days.

While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter India, Kajol talked about Maa and the possibility of turning the film into a franchise. She said, “Maa is the kind of film that will compel you to sit at the edge of your seat because it will make you feel, and make you stand up with her (the lead protagonist) to win her fight; that’s one element we have truly achieved.”
Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, and Kherin Sharma are seen in the pivotal roles.
