Malayalam film ‘Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra’ has impressed the audience with its stellar performances and captivating storyline. The movie has finally been released in Hindi as well, expanding its reach to a wider audience. Starring Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead role, ‘Lokah’ is set to be a two-part film franchise. The movie has been receiving praise from many celebrities, and Alia Bhatt has also shown support for the film.
Giving a shoutout to the team of ‘Lokah: Chapter 1’, Alia Bhatt wrote on Instagram, “Such a fresh blend of mythic folklore and mystery! So happy to see the love it’s getting. This is a step in cinema that I will always be eager to show my love and support for!”.
Producer Dulquer Salmaan thanked Alia for her support and wrote, “Thank you for always championing cinema you believe in Alia !! Lots of love”.
‘Lokah Chapter 1’ is produced by Malayalam superstar Dulquer Salmaan. While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter India, Kalyani Priyadarshan praised Dulquer Salmaan for creating a project like ‘Lokah’. She said, “You need to appreciate that we have people like Dulquer backing such a film.”
“Not only is it very different; it also takes a lot of courage to spend so much time and money on a film like Lokah. I’m not sure if such subjects are being discussed in other industries, but it’s because of people like him that it’s being made in Malayalam. He’s a real risk-taker, and if you look at his parents and mine, they were risk-takers too. That matters,” she added.

Talking about its OTT release, the makers have not announced their official streaming partner yet. According to Indiatimes, ‘Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra’ will reportedly release on Netflix after its theatrical run. Dulquer Salmaan’s previously produced movies ‘Kurup’ and ‘Maniyarayile Ashokan’ have also been released on Netflix.
