Malayalam cinema has produced another intriguing movie, ‘Lokah: Chapter 1 Chandra’, which is a superhero film. The movie revolves around a young woman who gains mystical skills while facing personal hurdles. She embraces her superpowers to save the world when evil surfaces. ‘Lokah’ has received an amazing response from the audience and has been showing a good response at the box office.
Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra Box Office Collection Day 1:
According to the website Sacnilk, ‘Lokah: Chapter 1 Chandra’ collected Rs 6.75 crore on day 3 as per the rough data. The movie showed a significant growth in earnings from its opening day. It earned Rs 2.7 crore on day 1 and Rs 4 crore on day 2. The movie has collected Rs 13.45 crore in total.
While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter India, Kalyani Priyadarshan praised Dulquer Salmaan for creating a project like ‘Lokah’. She said, “You need to appreciate that we have people like Dulquer backing such a film.”
“Not only is it very different; it also takes a lot of courage to spend so much time and money on a film like Lokah. I’m not sure if such subjects are being discussed in other industries but it’s because of people like him that it’s being made in Malayalam. He’s a real risk-taker and if you look at his parents and mine, they were risk-takers too. That matters,” she added.
Arun Kurian, Chandu Salimkumar, Nishanth Sagar, Raghunath Paleri, Vijayaraghavan, Nithya Shri and Sarath Sabha are in supporting roles.
Talking about its OTT release, the makers have not announced their official streaming partner yet. According to Indiatimes, ‘Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra’ will reportedly release on Netflix after its theatrical run. Dulquer Salmaan’s previously produced movies ‘Kurup’ and ‘Maniyarayile Ashokan’ have also been released on Netflix.
