Malayalam cinema has produced another intriguing movie, ‘Lokah: Chapter 1 Chandra’, which is a superhero film. The movie revolves around a young woman who gains mystical skills while facing personal hurdles. She embraces her superpowers to save the world when evil surfaces. After a strong first week and maintaining momentum into its second weekday, the movie shows no signs of slowing down, continuing its winning streak at the box office.

Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra has maintained a steady run at the box office in its first week. The film opened with Rs 2.7 crore on Day 1 (Thursday) and showed remarkable growth over the weekend, collecting Rs 4 crore on Day 2 (Friday), Rs 7.6 crore on Day 3 (Saturday), and peaking at Rs 10.1 crore on Day 4 (Sunday).
However, as expected, the numbers dipped slightly on weekdays, with Rs 7.2 crore on Day 5 (Monday). Interestingly, the film picked up again with Rs 7.65 crore on Day 6 (Tuesday) before dropping to around Rs 6.75 crore and Rs 7.1 crore on Day 7 (Wednesday), and Day 8 (Thursday) Rs 8.35 Cr, taking the first week total to Rs 54.7 Cr.
In its second weekend, the film continued steady, adding Rs 7.65 crore on Day 9 (Friday), Rs 10 crore on Day 10 (Saturday), and Rs 10.25 crore on Day 11 (Sunday). With an estimated Rs 5.75 crore on its Day 12 (second Monday), the total collection now stands at Rs 88.25 crore across all languages.

Blending Indian folklore, modern sci-fi, and horror, Lokah Chapter 1 marks the beginning of the Wayfarer Cinematic Universe (WCU). The film stars Kalyani Priyadarshan, Naslen, Sandy, alongside Arun Kurian, Chandu Salimkumar, Nishanth Sagar, Raghunath Paleri, Vijayaraghavan, Nithya Shri, and Sarath Sabha.
Talking about its OTT release, the makers have not announced their official streaming partner yet. According to Indiatimes, ‘Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra’ will reportedly release on Netflix after its theatrical run. Dulquer Salmaan’s previously produced movies ‘Kurup’ and ‘Maniyarayile Ashokan’ have also been released on Netflix.
