New Delhi: It seems that whenever a movie with a tight content is about to make its release, netizens welcome them using a special hashtag trend ‘BOYCOTT’. From #BoycottAliaBhatt to #BoycottRakshaBandhan, the Twitter is flooded with this trending hashtag. Now you may call it hatred for Bollywood or a PR stunt. Now Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha has also drowned into this trend.

Yes #BoycottLaalSinghChaddha is on trends. Having said that, let us look at some of the major controversies surrounding the perfectionist, Aamir Khan.

1. When Aamir Khan said India to be Intolerant

Aamir Khan’s comments about intolerance in India have sparked outrage. He had given the statement in the year 2015 and now a section of social media users have dug out the old controversy and shared it over the internet. In the statement, refering to his wife Aamir said that Kiran Rao, is uneasy in the country and wants to leave India. His statement was also opposed by actors like Paresh Rawal and Anupam Kher.

2. Aamir Khan’s dog name controversy

Once Aamir named his dog Shah Rukh Khan, which created a lot of uproar against him. This also led to a cold war between Aamir Khan and SRK, although the latter did not respond over the controversy.

3. Controversy over the movie PK

Aamir Khan has to face heavy rage from the general public and religious leaders over the concept of his movie PK. People lashed him for questioning the age old religious practices of Hindu community. He was critized for his nude character and allegedly insulting Hindu Gods and Godesses.

4. His hatred towards Award Shows

Aamir Khan seemingly doesnot attend any of the award shows and critics claimed that, it is due to his failure to win a Filmfare Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his film Dil in 1991.
