The assassination of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique on October 12 shook the country and the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed the responsibility for the murder. The gang has also given threats to Bollywood actor Salman Khan, who had a close bond with Siddique. According to recent reports, a web series based on the life of Lawrence Bishnoi is currently in production.
According to a report by News18, Jani Fire Fox Film Production House will release a new web series titled ‘Lawrence – A Gangster Story’, which will explore the life of Lawrence Bishnoi. The project will highlight Bishnoi’s transformation into a notorious gangster. The name of the actor chosen to portray the gangster will be revealed after Diwali.
Meanwhile, while speaking to ETimes, director-producer Anil Nagrath said that the series’ title was registered with the production house since January 2024. He said, “The title is registered with us since January 2024 . And the tradition of registering title based on current news and newsmakers has been a trend for many decades But for now this is the only title that is registered on Lawrence Bishnoi.”
The production house has reportedly announced projects like ‘A Tailor Murder Story’, based on the murder of Udaipur tailor Kanhaiya Lal Sahu. ‘Karachi to Noida’, based on Seema Haider and Sachin’s love story, is also in production.
Meanwhile, the security outside Salman Khan’s residence has been increased after the assassination of Baba Siddique. On October 17, Mumbai Traffic Police received another threat message allegedly from a Lawrence Bishnoi gang member, demanding Rs 5 crore to end the long-going feud with Salman Khan. As reported by ANI, the message read, “Don’t take it lightly, if Salman Khan wants to stay alive and wants to end the enmity with Lawrence Bishnoi, then he will have to pay Rs 5 crore. If the money is not given, Salman Khan’s condition will be worse than Baba Siddique. Investigation has been started in this matter: Mumbai Police.”
According to India Today, Salman Khan has been provided with Y+ security. A police escort vehicle will always travel alongside his car and a constable trained to use all weapons will accompany him. Additional personnel have also been stationed inside and outside the actor’s farmhouse in Panvel, Maharashtra.
