L2: Empuraan Box Office Collection Day 1: Mohanlal, Prithviraj’s Film Delivers Biggest Malayalam Opening, Earns Rs. 21 Crore!

Mohanlal’s ‘L2: Empuraan’ has created history at the Malayalam box office, delivering a record-breaking opening in India.

Mohanlal’s much anticipated film, L2: Empuraan was finally released released yesterday setting an unimaginable record on its opening day. The Prithviraj Sukumaran directed mass entertainer has received lot of love from the audience. The film’s opening day collection is more than twice the previous highest for a Malayalam film which clearly depicts Mohanlal’s unmatched stardom and immense popularity.

Box Office Collection Day 1

According to Sacnilk, the film collected Rs.21 crore in India, surpassing all previous Malayalam film records, The previous highest was The Goat Life, Prithviraj’s 2024 release, which opened at Rs.8.5 crore and before that Lucifer which was also directed by Prithviraj and starring Mohanlal collected Rs.6.10 crore in the year 2019.

About L2: Empuraan

The movie is the second installment of the film Lucifer which was released in the year 2019. L2: Empuraan explores themes of political drama with high stakes action. The makers have also planned to take L2: Empuraan to the pan-Indian level, With its over-the-top storyline, strong performances and top-shelf production values, the film aims to to redefine the boundaries of Malayalam cinema and cement its place among the biggest blockbusters in Indian film history.

Star-Studded Cast

The supporting star cast of the film include Tovino Thomas as Jathin Ramdas,  Indrajit Sukumaran as Govardhan Manju Warrier as Priyadarshini Ramdas and  Suraj Venjaramoodu as Sanjanachaandran. Each character is expected to bring their own intrigue to the story which could make the film an overall grand cinematic experience.
