FIR Against Kunal Kamra

The whole controversy started when Kunal performed a song targeting Shiv Sena president and Maharashtra deputy CM Eknath Shinde during one of his stand-up comedy show. The act frustrated the deputy CM's supporters and they started vandalising the Habitat Comedy Club where Kunal's show how was held. Shiv sena workers also damaged the hotel property where the club is located.

After this, Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel filed a complaint against him and the police registered an FIR against Kunal for making alleged defamatory remarks. But despite the backlash, Kunal stood strong at his words and in a statement he said, “I will not apologise or hide under the bed waiting for the controversy to die down.”

According to police sources, Kunal, who is currently in Puducherry as per his Instagram bio has been asked to appear before the Mumbai police within a week for questioning.
