Vijay Deverakonda returned to the big screen with his film Kingdom after a series of underwhelming projects over the past few years. It started off with high expectations and strong buzz. The action-packed spy thriller, released on July 31, opened to impressive box office figures and largely positive reviews. The film drew considerable footfall during its opening weekend. However, the momentum slowed as the days progressed, especially on weekdays. Here’s how Kingdom performed at the box office in its first week.
Kingdom Box Office Collection Day 7:
Vijay Deverakonda’s latest film Kingdom has wrapped up its first week at the box office with a total collection of Rs 45.90 crore. The film opened on a strong note, earning Rs 18 crore on Day 1 (Thursday), with Rs 17.25 crore from the Telugu version and Rs 0.75 crore from Tamil. However, the momentum dropped on Day 2, with collections falling over 58% to Rs 7.5 crore. Day 3 witnessed a slight recovery as the film collected Rs 8 crore, but Day 4 saw another dip, earning Rs 7.4 crore.
The weekdays saw a steeper decline. On Day 5 (Monday), Kingdom managed just Rs 2 crore, marking a near 73% drop from Sunday (Day 4). Day 6 earnings fell further to Rs 1.75 crore, and early estimates for Day 7 suggest a collection of Rs 1.25 crore.
Despite the controversies and protests in Tamil Nadu, the film managed to cross Rs 45 crore in its opening week, though the sharp decline in daily numbers indicates that sustaining momentum in the second week could be a challenge.
