Akshay Kumar announced the making of ‘Kesari: Chapter 3’ during the trailer showcasing of ‘Kesari Chapter 2’ in Delhi, which will be released on April 18, 2025. While interacting with the media, he also revealed that the third part will be based on the life of Hari Singh Nalwa. For the uninformed, Hari Singh Nalwa was the first commander-in-chief of Khalsa Fauj, the army of the Sikh empire.
Who is Hari Singh Nalwa?
Sikh commander Hari Singh Nalwa was a brave leader in Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s Army along the northwestern edge of the Indian subcontinent, next to Afghanistan. He served as the administrator of the most unstable region, at present known as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Hari Singh also played an important role in conquering Kasur, Sialkot, Attock, Multan, Kashmir, Peshawar, and Jamrud. He created a mint in Kashmir and Peshawar to look after the revenue collection for the Sikh empire.
In 2022, Akshay Kumar hinted at playing the role of Hari Singh Nalwa while giving an interview to Fever FM, where he expressed his respect for this great character.
Kesari: Chapter 2
This movie revolves around the life of Advocate C Sankaran Nair and former President of the Indian National Congress, who fought to uncover the truth behind the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre that took the audience back to Indian history.
