Kerala: Rapper Vedan Arrested After Ganja Found In His Kochi Apartment

Kerala rapper Vedan, known for his viral rap videos and film collaborations, finds himself in legal trouble after being arrested for drug possession.

On Monday, April 28, 2025, the police arrested Kerala rapper Vedan (Hirandas Murali) after finding nearly six grams of ganja in his apartment near Vyttila in Kochi.

What Happened

Vedan had come to the apartment with eight friends after performing at a stage show on Sunday night, April 27, 2025. The police were questioning Vedan and his friends when the news was reported.

Charges and Bail

“He will be booked as per the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act after the interrogation is completed,” they said. He may be released on station bail as the quantity in possession was minimal. The police said further details related to the ganja seizure will be revealed soon.

Vedan’s Rise to Fame

Vedang, who is from Thrissur, became popular with his rap video “Voice of the Voiceless.” The video was a big hit online and gained a lot of attention. In addition to his own music, Vedan worked with well-known music director Sushin Shyam. Together, they created the promo song “Kuthanthram” for the popular movie Manjummel Boys. This collaboration helped Vedan gain even more recognition in the music industry.
