Actress Kelly Mack, who became famous for playing Edie in season 9 of ‘The Walking Dead’, died on August 2 after a long and private battle with glioma of the central nervous system. She was 32 years old. Her family confirmed the sad news on August 5 through an emotional condolence message and Instagram post.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kelly’s real name was Kelly Klebenow. Her loved ones were present with her during her last moments. The tribute shared with a photo read, “It is with indelible sadness that we are announcing the passing of our dear Kelley. Such a bright, fervent light has transitioned to the beyond, where we all eventually must go,” the condolence message and social media post also mentioned that she died peacefully.

Mack was praised for her strong character in ‘The Walking Dead’. Apart from this, she also appeared in ‘Chicago Med’ (season 8) and FOX’s series ‘9-1-1’. Talking about films, she played the role of Alice in ‘Broadcast Signal Intrusion’ and Wilda in ‘Delicate Ark’. In the world of advertising, she has also worked for big brands like Dr. Pepper, Dairy Queen, Ross, Chick-fil-A and Rakuten. Her mother Kristen also appeared with her in the Rakuten ad.
She produced five projects and also made a name for herself as a voiceover artist. She matched Hailee Steinfeld’s voice for the character of Gwen Stacy in ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’.
She graduated from Hinsdale Central High School in 2010 and from Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film in 2014. Her love for films began in childhood, when she received a video camera as a gift on her birthday. Her last film, in which she played the titular character Ricky, will be released soon under Universal Pictures.
She leaves behind her parents Kristen and Lindsay Klebenow, siblings Katherine and Parker, grandparents Lois and Larry, and boyfriend Logan.
