Ten-year-old Ishit Bhatt, who got criticised online for his behaviour on Kaun Banega Crorepati 17, has apologized. He said sorry for being nervous and sometimes rude while talking to host Amitabh Bachchan and explained that he didn’t mean to be disrespectful.
In a video shared on his Instagram account @ishit_bhatt_official, Ishit also requested a photo with Amitabh Bachchan, which the veteran actor graciously obliged. Alongside the video, Ishit wrote, “I want to sincerely apologise for my behaviour on Kaun Banega Crorepati. I got nervous, and my attitude came out completely wrong. It wasn’t my intention to be rude — I respect Amitabh Bachchan, sir, and the entire KBC team deeply.”
Reflecting on the lesson learned, he added, “I’ve learnt a big lesson about how words and actions reflect who we are, especially on such a big platform. I promise to be more humble, respectful, and thoughtful in the future.” Signing off as “The KBC Boy,” he also thanked those who supported him despite the criticism.
What caused the backlash?
Ishit Bhatt, went viral after his overconfident remarks and slightly rude tone toward Big B left viewers surprised. As soon as Amitabh Bachchan began explaining the rules, Ishit interrupted him, saying, “Mere ko rules pata hai isliye aap mereko abhi rules samjhane mat baithna (I already know the rules, so you don’t need to explain them to me).”
Throughout the game, he kept insisting on locking answers before hearing all the options. However, when faced with a question related to the Ramayana, the young contestant quickly asked,“Arre option daalo (Give me the options).” Later, when he gave the answer, he shouted, “Sir ek kya uss mein chaar lock lagado, lekin lock karo (Sir, put not just one but four locks on it, but lock it.).”
Unfortunately, his answer turned out to be wrong, and he walked away without any prize money. Amitabh Bachchan gently remarked, “Kabhi kabhi bachhe overconfidence mein galti kar dete hai (Sometimes children make mistakes due to overconfidence).”
The clip has since gone viral, sparking mixed reactions. While many criticized the boy’s tone and attitude, others defended him, saying he’s just a child who may have been nervous or overwhelmed.
