According to reports, Karthi was filming an action scene in Mysuru when he hurt his leg. The team quickly rushed him to the hospital, where doctors advised him to take a week's rest to recover. As a result, shooting has been halted for the time being, and the team is waiting for his recovery before resuming the schedule.

The production of Sardar 2 has already wrapped up about 80% of the shooting. Despite the delay caused by Karthi's injury, the team remains optimistic that they will finish the remaining portions of the film soon. The film’s climax was recently shot at a studio in Chennai, where Karthi and co-star SJ Suryah filmed crucial sequences. The action stunts for these scenes were choreographed by Malayalam film stunt coordinator Chetan Ramshi D’Souza.
