Gulshan Devaiah is currently basking in the success of his movie ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’, which has become a blockbuster within a few days. The movie has already collected around Rs 600 crore worldwide. In a recent interview, Gulshan talked about how he is handling the success of ‘Kantara Chapter 1’, increasing his fee and more.
Talking about how he is handling the success of Kantara: Chapter 1, Gulshan Devaiah told Varinder Chawla’s YouTube channel that the conventional idea of success messes with people’s heads.
“It’s only a matter of time before something like this happens and there’s a big explosion. You have to be ready, because if you’re not ready, you can lose your head. And I’ve seen the conventional idea of success mess with people’s heads. I was mature enough to handle it in a healthy manner, and productive manner, which means that I’m going to make more money now,” he shared.
Further talking about hiking his fees, he added, “Already hiked. They were hiked the day the trailer dropped. I have to take advantage of this, don’t I? It’s one of the most anticipated films of the year, one of the biggest films of India… I’ve been working for 15 years; this much business I know.”
Gulshan further poked fun at vanity vans and huge staffs of many actors amid the ongoing entourage debate. He said, “Which is apparently less than some other films. Some people have 1,000 people in their staff only, and 52 vanity vans. I think these people are my friends only. I really like them also. I hope this joke flies well, or goes under the radar.”
The movie stars Rishab Shetty as Berme alongside Rukmini Vasanth as Kanakavathi, and Gulshan Devaiah as Kulashekara. The film’s visual is backed by the powerful cinematic vision of Arvind S. Kashyap as cinematographer and the evocative music of B. Ajaneesh Loknath, whose compositions in the first film left audiences spellbound. It is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films.
