According to the website Sacnilk, ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ collected Rs 30.50 crore on day 5. Even though the movie had a decline in numbers on Monday, it has maintained its grip in theatres. The movie has earned Rs 255.75 crore in total.
Rishab Shetty has essayed the role of Berme alongside Rukmini Vasanth as Kanakavathi, and Gulshan Devaiah as Kulashekara. The film’s visual is backed by the powerful cinematic vision of Arvind S. Kashyap as cinematographer and the evocative music of B. Ajaneesh Loknath, whose compositions in the first film left audiences spellbound. It is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films.

Talking about the 2022 film ‘Kantara’, Rishab Shetty also directed the film. It also starred Sapthami Gowda, Kishore, and Achyuth Kumar in the lead roles. The movie focused on a Kambala champion who clashes with an upright forest officer, leading to a larger conflict involving sacred land, ancestral legacy, and the balance between nature and man-made law.
The movie became the highest-grossing Kannada film of all time when it was released. Rishab also won the National Film Award in the Best Actor in a Leading Role category.
‘Kantara Chapter 1’ also clashed with the Hindi film ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ in theatres.
